Discover Himmelstorm's Journey

Himmelstorm is a Norwegian melodic metal band formed in the early 2010s by guitarist and songwriter Vemund Osland. Originally conceived as an instrumental project, the band evolved into a full vocal-driven act in 2017 when Gøran Af Geijerstam joined as vocalist, marking the beginning of Himmelstorm’s defining collaboration.

Based in a small town surrounded by fjords and northern mountains, Himmelstorm blends melodic metal with the power and attitude of 80s heavy metal, modern prog influences, and cinematic elements. The band’s sound balances melody and aggression, combining soaring vocals, heavy riffs, and atmospheric arrangements.

Drawing inspiration from bands such as Metallica, Pantera, In Flames, Dream Theater, and Fear Factory, Himmelstorm forges music that is both epic and grounded—rooted in classic metal tradition while pushing toward a modern, expansive sound.
